Interprofessional
Teamwork
November 2-3, 2024
Join an interprofessional team of pediatric emergency medicine fellows, nurses, and child life specialists from hospitals and fellowships all over the world!
Collaborate together to resuscitate critically ill and injured children in high-intensity emergency simulations.
Leverage your team's specialized expertise and diverse experiences to:
- improve your shared decision-making
- cultivate team leadership skills
- empower open communication
- optimize your situational awareness
- foster mutual support and assistance
Engage with families (standardized patient actors) in high-stress pediatric resuscitations to hone your patient and family-centered care skills.
Cultivate a team spirit where patients and families are respected. Practice listening and incorporating your patients' and families' values, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds into your teams' decision-making. Establish an environment where patients and their families are encouraged and supported when participating in their child's care - even in the most stressful resuscitations.
After each simulation, a team of education, simulation, and content experts from diverse multiprofessional and multidisciplinary fields will lead your debriefing sessions — including pediatric emergency medicine, emergency medicine, nursing, child life, critical care, anesthesiology, trauma surgery, and more.
These collaborative debriefings are safe, non-threatening conversations intended to help you and your team revisit and reflect on your shared experiences - with the goal of improving your future performance.
